Background story: This is one of my project during my final year Diploma in Fashion Design studies.

Brief: I was tasked to design and develop Innovative textile manipulations design during my Diploma in Fashion Design as part of the portfolio.

Approach: I’ve selected the theme Baker street, as I visited UK prior developing this series of textile manipulation. I was truly inspired when I travelled to Baker street, where even the train station seem to bring me back in time. I’ve also visited Sherlock Holmes Museum where I find everything that was displayed were so fascinating. I’ve taken a lot of picture references there and those images served as my inspiration when I develop the prints.

Challenge & Solution: The biggest challenge of this project is to ensure the print is printable on cotton or natural fibres, as this collection is designed for teens. When we design a collection for kids or teens, it is recommended to develop the collection using natural fibres to avoid sensitive skin or allergies.
