Background story: This is a series of fashion collection development based on the theme Inverted World, a project requested by my client Lydia, who is based in London, UK.
Brief: I was tasked to develop a series of fashion sketches and illustrations based on the theme Inverted World.
Approach: The way I interpreted the theme Inverted World is to take inspiration on things that is the opposite or uncommon or unnatural. When I started developing sketches, I take inspiration from interesting collages, irregular shapes, cross referenced visual ideas and developed a fashion collection of 4 outfits with unique textile manipulations, and interesting panelling and colour combinations. I love how I can play around with different silhouettes, layering and textures.
Challenge & Solution: The biggest challenge of this project was to look for interesting collage or visual reference relates to the theme inverted world. There are not much interesting graphics, so I had to cross reference other visual references to have more ideas for the collection development.
