Background story: Csquared (C²) is a Malaysian music band made up of 4 members, each of them loves band music, they are inspired to learn new instruments and perform the songs that they love. They want to deliver the message where ‘Anyone can play music, and it’s never too late to start.’ The members some with music background, some without any experience; they came together to form this unique group, and they want to share this journey with people out there who are afraid to take the first step, and encourage everyone to play music and do what they love.
Brief: I was tasked to design a T-shirt merchandise for the music band.
Approach: I am inspired to keep the T-shirt simple with interesting graphic work on the back of the T-shirt where Calm x Crazy is the main idea of band Csquared.
Challenge & Solution: The biggest challenge of this project is to create eye-catching yet simple graphic print on the back of the T-shirt without it being too formal like a corporate T-shirt, whilst keeping a fun element to it. So I decided to further utilise the idea of strings as background of graphic print to keep the relevance of the design to the band, and used a colour that is more striking against the dark background, almost like it is glowing.
