Background story: This is a product photography project for brand Fleur De Lis. Fleur De lis is a brand that sells handmade 100% pure essential oil soy wax candles.
Brief: I was tasked to conceptualise the theme and direction of product photoshoot for a start up brand Fleur De Lis.
Approach: I was really looking forward to try this project, as I wanted to learn new skills that could help me to understand the creative industry even better. I researched ideas to create a moodboard and direction for the vibe and colour tone I want to achieve for this series of product, while keeping the message of the brand in mind. With the direction confirmed, I start to source for props and tools that could act as a background for the product, so that it will help to make the product appear more appealing to the consumers. After the photoshoot, I performed post-production on the photos to ensure they are in good condition to be published.
Challenge & Solution: The biggest challenge of this project is that I have to work on this using sunlight around 2-5pm to achieve a more natural outcome for the products. Any sunlight before and after these few hours would appear glaringly bright or too dim. It is also quite challenging and time consuming as I need to set up the props for each product and ensure the light and reflectors are positioned well for the photoshoot. A nicely taken photo will help reduce the time required during post-production.
